Kevin Swainson

Born and brought up in Liverpool, Devon has been my home for the last 30 years. As a teenager I enjoyed art and found that drawing was a particular talent I possessed. However I chose catering as my initial career and didn't continue with my art practice until late adulthood. My varied career since has always involved a great deal of creativity in some form or another.

My reconnection with art happened by chance in 2021 at the age of 54 through a course of six two-hour workshops run by a local artist. This reignited the spark of creative expression in me which has now developed into a practice that is evolving through experimentation.

In the last year, with the support and encouragement from the thriving local artistic community, I have been successful with having my charcoal drawings accepted and sold in two open exhibitions.

I have now created a dedicated studio space in our garden in order to be able to explore and develop my creative expression further, and am excited to discover where my creativity will take me next.
